Review

I wasn't a huge fan of this, although it's clearly not awful. A Sheriff, his prisoners, an army officer, a gunrunner, and a couple of women are forced to make their way through Apache country in a fairly contrived set-up (not that I really mind contrived...). It all looks quite pretty—although the print I watched wasn't fantastic great—with some well chosen landscapes. There's a lot of clichés, and it all seemed very familiar, and only partly because I'd seen it before. The cavalry officer announces that the Indians never attack at night, the prissy woman needs to take a bath in the remaining water. Every character is basically one-note, with the only exception being the main character – a likeable outlaw, and even he wasn't given much depth (and his romance with the stuck-up woman seems very unconvincing).

On the positive side, the action is reasonable, and the slow attrition as the heroes get killed off adds a nice sense of doom. It's watchable, but I don't think there's a great deal of reason to watch it.
