David's Guide to Westerns

About David's Guide to Westerns

David's Guide to Westerns contains reviews of a wide range of Western fiction, such as films, books, TV series, and computer games. It does not—as yet—contain anything about non-fiction books either about the old-west or about westerns, although I'd vaguely like to add some of the latter. It also contains lists of people together with links to what they've done. This is intentionally not comprehensive. Finally, as part of an attempt to categorise stuff, it contains links to various different categories such as the genre of westerns (spaghetti western, for example) and other such related things.

One of the slightly unfortunate things about having watched lots of Westerns in the past is that some of the ones I'm watching now tend to be the less notable ones, so in some cases the reviews will be filled up in an odd order, rather than starting with the classics. Additionally, for computer games, where significant replaying would really be needed, and so the reviews have typically been done from impressions from a while ago, when I first played them.

In an optimistic move, I've put a "comments" feature below each review, which I'm assuming the spam-bots of the world won't be particularly interested in. This may be naive.... A guide to how comments work is linked to from near it (and here). Feel free to use them, or to david@example.com (contact me by email) .

Feel free to david@davidsguidetowesterns.co.uk (contact me by email) . I do have vague ambitions to add comments to the pages, but I couldn't get the dynamic content bit of the site to work well with the webserver, so I've had to abandon that for the time being. Maybe later....

Stuff I'm kind of aware of

  • The colour scheme is faintly tasteless (this may get fixed someday).
  • The reviews are probably overly critical, even for things I like.
